John Wills
Wealth AdvisorJohn is a fee-based Wealth Advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, dually- registered with LPL Financial and HighPoint Planning Partners.
John graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in finance and began his financial and investment career at UBS Financial Services in 2010, working for a ‘Barron’s Top 1000′ Financial Advisor. He continued on to work as a licensed Financial Advisor at UBS until joining LPL Financial to continue building his own practice in 2014.
John holds the FINRA series 7 securities registration through LPL Financial, and the FINRA series 66 registration through HighPoint Planning Partners. John also holds insurance licensing for life, health, long term care, and variable products through LPL Financial.
A passion for investing and helping individuals to pursue their personal financial and retirement goals drives John’s vision for his practice. He is committed to providing professional, comprehensive fee-based advice.
Areas of expertise include financial planning, retirement income planning, investment management, insurance services and general guidance on tax-efficient investment and estate planning strategies. John sees himself as his clients’ sounding board for financial decisions, and a disciplined coach that keeps them on track during turbulent markets. John’s investment philosophy is to understand a clients’ comprehensive financial situation and goals prior to making investment recommendations. He uses transparent, fee-based management programs to implement and manage personalized client asset allocations using investments that best meet clients’ unique circumstances.
John works with individuals, companies, and organizations in a wide range of career and life stages. John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, a mark awarded to Advisors who have met rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board.
John lives with his wife, Carla, and their two young daughters in the western suburbs. John volunteers his talents as a guitar player at Good Shepherd church in Naperville, as part of the ’11:11′ band. John enjoys performing in various bands and is also studied contemporary music at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
